In 2004, after an absence
of almost 20 years, I’ve returned to India,
to gladly write, another chapter of my truly visual
karma. An itinerary beginning in Delhi, which
after passing through Agra, Jaipur and Udaipur
took me to one of the few places where I have
never been in this Country, the city of Dharamsala,
headquarters of the Tibetan government in exile
and home to His Holiness The Dalai Lama.
I was very happy to see that XXI century India
hasn’t lost the charm, identity, and everything
else that made me fell in love since my first
visit back in the Seventies. Of course, there
was a noticeable increase in population and in
the automobile fleet, cell phones and cyber cafes
are already part of the landscape, as in many
other places, but the way of being of its people,
their customs, their friendliness and hospitality
remain the same, strong as their faith.
Again, the Hasselblad Xpan was used and once again
we feel the value of its contribution to the work.
This equipment, very light and quiet, with its
panoramic frame, allowed me to resume the subject
in an entirely new way, more suitable to this
country, a real overdose for the senses, a festival
of colors, shapes, tastes and sounds.
